Derrick Demtria Yankaway

Derrick Demtria Yankaway, 54, of Osceola died July 8, 2021, at his home. He was a sanitation worker for the City of Osceola and a member of Macedonia M.B. Church in Wilson. Mr. Yankaway was born March 11, 1967, in Osceola to John and Rebecca Branch Yankaway. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Lesia Yankaway of Osceola; one son, Derrick Yankaway Jr. of Sikeston, Mo.; two daughters, Ebony Yankaway and LaQuita Yankaway of Osceola; five brothers, Robert Yankaway of Minneapolis, Minn., John Yankaway and Donald Yankaway of Osceola, Aaron Yankaway and Jimmy Yankaway of Blytheville; five sisters, Mary Yankaway of Gosnell, Sandra Yankaway of Blytheville, Angie Yankaway of Osceola, Annie Yankaway of Jonesoboro and Melinda Yankaway of Marion; his best friend, Yolanda Caruthers of Luxora; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 17, from 1-2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m. at Macedonia M.B. Church in Wilson with Pastor Bryant Whitted officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola will be in charge.
