Derrick Palmore, Sr. of Blytheville was born Sept. 17, 1976, in Blytheville to the late John Palmore, Sr. and the late Verlene Carter. He was a welder as well as of the Baptist faith. Mr. Palmore passed away July 4, 2021, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville at the age of 44. He was preceded in death by his father John Palmore, Sr., mother Verlene Carter Palmore and brother Kent Palmore.

He is survived by five sons, Derrick Wilson of Nashville, Tenn., Derrick Palmore, Jr. of Kennett, Mo., Damashea Palmore of Jonesboro and Dameyan Palmore and Damarion Palmore, both of Blytheville; one daughter, Mariah Palmore of Blytheville; two brothers, John Palmore, Sr. and Kurt Palmore, Sr., both of Blytheville; three sisters, Valerie Ward and Sherry Henry, both of Covington, Ga., and Tawanda Palmore of Blytheville; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, July 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. The funeral will be held Saturday, July 10, at 10 a.m. at New Mt. Olive M.B. Church in Blytheville, with Pastor Gregory Jones officiating, burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
