Sue Krech Phillips

Sue Krech Phillips, 83, passed away peacefully June 27, 2021, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Blytheville to Jesse and Christine Krech.

Sue was a professional at Hillcrest Elementary in Jonesboro for over 35 years and loved working with the staff and children. Upon retirement, she enjoyed working in her yard and spending time with family, friends, teacher retirees, and attending church services at both First Baptist Church and Nettleton Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Edison, Jay, Lynn and Junior; sister, Jewel; and former husband, Bill Phillips.

Sue is survived by her children, Kay (Mark) Richardson, Bill (Melanie) Phillips, all of Jonesboro, and Tanya (Lowry) Barnes of Little Rock; sister, Ruth Raspberry of Blytheville; brother, Billy Krech of Chattanooga, Tenn.; her much adored 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services will be private. A gathering of Sue’s friends will be held Wednesday, June 30, from 3-4 p.m. in the Jonesboro First Baptist Church atrium located at 701 South Main Street in Jonesboro. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
