Eric Whitaker Sr.

Eric Whitaker Sr. was born Sept. 22, 1976, to Cornelius and Catherine Whitaker in Chicago, Ill. Eric departed this life Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his home in Blytheville at the age of 44. He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Whitaker.

Eric leaves to cherish his memories, his wife Lavonda Whitaker of Blytheville; his father, Cornelius Whitaker of Marion; two daughters, Endya Whitaker of Marion and Jamika Fowler of Bono; four sons, Eric Whitaker Jr. of Jonesboro, Vertel Fowler of Osceola, Labyus Fowler of Blytheville and Marquese Gray of Marion; one brother, Pastor Kevin Whitaker of Douglasville, Ga.; one sister, Kristy Vornes of Memphis, Tenn.; his grandmother, Collie Ward of Marion; 18 grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 4, from 5-7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home, 128 South 7th Street, West Memphis. Services will be held Saturday, June 5, at New Mt. Zion M.B. Church, 975 E. Barton, West Memphis, at 12 p.m. (noon). Burial will follow at Marion Memorial Cemetery in Marion.
