JB Taylor of Sikeston, Mo., was born Oct. 30, 1949, in Jericho, to the late Willie Taylor, Sr. and the late Orliner McGhee Taylor. He was a farm worker and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Taylor passed away May 25, 2021, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., at the age of 71. Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his father, Willie Taylor, Sr.; his mother, Orliner McGhee Taylor; his wife, Shirley Taylor; two brothers, Willie Taylor, Jr. and Edward Taylor; two sisters, Ruthie Mae Lewis and Betty Jean Bradley; and one grandchild, William Thomas, Jr.

He is survived by three sons, James Floyd, JD Taylor and Daronda “Big O” Knighten, all of Blytheville; two daughters, Tammy Shears of West Memphis and Cassandra Fowler of Blytheville; three stepsons, Tyrone Willliams, Robert Williams and Patrick Williams, all of Blytheville; two daughters, Tammy Shears of West Memphis and Cassandra Fowler of Blytheville; one stepsister, Sharon Thomas of Blytheville; six brothers, Cleo Taylor of Sikeston, Mo., Freddie Taylor of Fort Meyers, Fla., Galvin Taylor of Sikeston, Mo., Solomon Taylor of Marion, Orval Taylor of Sikeston, Mo., and Chester Taylor of Louisville, Ky.; seven sisters, Josephine Taylor of Blytheville, Ocella Wilson of West Memphis, Marilyn Aldridge, Dorothy Carmon, both of Sikeston, Mo., and Barbara Taylor, Shirley Taylor and Jacquline Taylor, all of Louisville, Ky.; 44 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be held Saturday, June 5, from 12-2 p.m. with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville, with Pastor Hallie Bonner officiating. The burial will be held at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
