Manila WWI hero remembered

Ninety-six years ago on Memorial Day 1925 the life-sized statue of Herman Davis, World War I hero was unveiled on the corner of Baltimore Street and Highway 18 in Manila. The monument was placed on land donated by the city of Manila. The body of Davis was moved from the Manila Cemetery and is interred at the base of the monument.
