Rick Ellis, 67, of Fayetteville, and formerly of Blytheville, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Rick was born in Blytheville to Melvis and Sue Langley Ellis and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country with honor in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for some of his time in the military. He was the owner of Ellis Processing and Materials Handling of Memphis, Tenn., and Armorel, Ark. Rick understood the value of hard work, and he loved and appreciated every one of his employees. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed traveling with his wife Dianna. Rick was an avid Razorback fan. He watched every sport that the Razorbacks played and called the Hogs every Saturday. Rick enjoyed golfing and loved his dog, Tug. He enjoyed being outside working in his yard and was very passionate about his landscaping and how beautiful it looked after he was finished. Rick was a family man and loved spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He was a very generous and giving man, with a big heart that never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his best friend, David Stone.

Rick leaves his wife, Dianna Pike Ellis of the home; three children, Jessica Swafford of Bryant, Matt Ellis and his wife Samantha of Marion and Hayden Ellis of Fayetteville; one brother, Lamar Ellis and his wife Pat of Blytheville; and four grandchildren, Raleigh Lynn, Rory Mae “Toots”, Lukus and Jaxson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 17, at 10 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Hyde officiating. Entombment followed in Dogwood Mausoleum. The family received friends Friday from 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home.
