Douglas Alexander Swatson

Douglas Alexander Swatson was born Nov. 13, 1965 in Hughes to Moses and Willie Mae Sawyers Swatson. He was a member of Gospel Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of Dr. Charles Thomas.

Preceded in death by his parents and one brother Harry, Douglas passed away Thursday, March 30, 2021, in his home at the age of 55.

Douglas leaves to cherish the memories his wife, Muriel Jones Swatson of Blytheville; one son, Douglas Swatson, Jr. of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Quneesia Swatson also of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Joe Sawyers of Friars Point, Miss.; two sisters, Pamela (Frank) Scofield of Marion and Pearletha Swatson of Fayetteville, N.C.; six grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, from 5-7 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, April 10, at 12:00 noon at Gospel Temple Church of God In Christ, 1108 David Lane where Dr. Charles Thomas is the pastor. Dr. Thomas will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery.

We are requesting that the practice of social distancing and wearing face masks are observed during the visitation and funeral service.
