Leroy Swanigan, Jr. was born Jan. 9, 1964, in Forrest City to Leroy and Margaret Ann Mitchell Swanigan. Leroy was a graduate of Blytheville High School and enjoyed outdoor sports. He was a former employee of Sears of Blytheville.

Preceded in death by his father, brother Dewayne and a great-granddaughter Makiyah Fisher, Leroy passed away Friday March 12, 2021, at Heritage Square Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 57.

Leroy leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Margaret Ann Swanigan of Blytheville; one daughter and son-in-law, Yolanda and Earl Fisher of Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren, Eja, Ejavion and Ejaylah; four brothers, Robert and Mousalla Smith of Hattiesburg, Miss., Lance and Tamara Swanigan of Blytheville, Steven Swanigan of Blytheville and Anthony and Latoya Daniels, also of Blytheville; two sisters, Theresa and Jerry Barclay of Blytheville and Tina Figueroa of Baltimore, Md.; one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 20, from 5-7 p.m. in the chapel of McDonald-Horne Funeral Home, 1207 South Division Street, Blytheville.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, March 21, at 2 p.m. at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1215 East Street, Blytheville, where Bishop Brian Olden is the pastor. Reverend Anthony Burton will deliver the eulogy with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, the practice of social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another and wearing face masks are required to enter the building and to be worn at all times.
