James Hopkins, Sr. of Blytheville was born Feb. 28, 1949 in Dell to the late Alfred Hopkins, Sr. and the late Pauline Whaley Hopkins. He was a factory worker and a member of St. Mark Full Gospel in Blytheville. Mr. Hopkins passed away Feb. 11, 2021, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Hopkins, Sr.; his mother, Pauline Whaley Hopkins; his wife, Debra Hopkins; and two brothers, Alfred Hopkins, Jr and Rev. Robert Hopkins.

He is survived by two sons, Anthony (Barbara) Hopkins of Blytheville and James (Terri) Hopkins, Jr. of Mesquite, Texas; one daughter, Vanessa (Curtis Branch) Bowie of Blytheville; one brother, Rev. Gerald Regina) Hopkins of Blytheville; five sisters, Vera (Willie) James of Blytheville, Minnie (Skip) Johnson of Detroit, AR, and Mae Sander, Louise Fair and Helen (George) Langel all of Blytheville; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and three special friends, Merrill Riley, Shenika Whitfield and Jim Ward, all of Blytheville.

The visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral immediately following at 10 a.m. Rev. Scotty Hopkins will be officiating. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
