Lester Armstrong, Sr.

Lester Armstrong, Sr., 83, of Osceola died January 23, 2021 at his home in Osceola. He was a retired factory worker and a member of Tabernacle MB Church in Osceola. Mr. Armstrong was born Sept. 2, 1937 in Turrell to William Armstrong, Sr. and Ethel Mae Boyce Armstrong Beech. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

He is survived by his wife Prince Armstrong of Osceola; four sons Lester Armstrong, JR. of St. Cloud, Minn., Melvin Armstrong of Bloomington, Ill., David Humble of Pittsburg, Pa., and Bobby Armstrong of West Helena; three daughters Gail Armstrong of South Carolina, Pamela Cannon of Jonesboro and Carla Stewart of Osceola; three sisters, Almaree Porter of Flint, Mich., Arelilion Johnson of Indianapolis, Ind., and Thelma Johnson of Bloomington, Ill.; 22 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 29, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. The funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 30, at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle MB Church in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola with Pastor ML Smith officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge.
