Gerald Ray Glidewel

Gerald Ray Glidewell of Trumann departed this life Jan. 11, 2021, at the family residence at the age of 71 years, one month and four days. He was born Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1949, in Tracy, Calif. and lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. Gerald was co-owner with Randy McClung of McWell MFG, a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army, Lifetime Master Mason, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite, served on the Trumann Housing Authority Board for 32 years with 27 years as chairman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Ray and Elsie Geraldine Smith Glidewell, and grandson, Emsley Ward McNair.

He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 51 years, Rayva McDaniel Glidewell of the home; two daughters, Mika (David) Davis and Maranda McNair, both of Trumann; three grandchildren, Kennedy Crowell, Isabella Davis and Parks McNair.

Graveside Celebration of Life service was Jan. 14 at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Sarah Ellzey officiating. Burial followed with Thompson Funeral Home of Trumann in charge of arrangements.

In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing was required along with face masks and the signing of a COVID-19 form.
