Elmer Arlin Roberts, 83, of Jonesboro, passed from this life Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at his home. Born and raised in Leachville, he was the son of the late Isaac Bailey and Juanita Inez Barnes Roberts and had been a longtime resident of Jonesboro. He was a retired auto mechanic, having worked for Abernathy Motors in Jonesboro retiring in 1996. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Jonesboro and attended NEA First Assembly of God. Elmer enjoyed watching professional wrestling, "cutting up" and having fun. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was known as "a giver" always willing to help those in need. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Delora Mae Roberts, in 2014.

Survivors include his son, Patrick Roberts (Samantha) of Jonesboro; four daughters, Doris Hannah (Stanley) and Sheila Bowlin, both of Jonesboro; Linda Vasquez (Jose) of Mountain Home and Charlotte Ray (Charles) of Heber Springs; two brothers, Jerry Roberts of Elkhart, Ind., and Delmar Roberts of Atlanta, Ga.; his sister, Dovie Bryant of Monette. He also leaves 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. Joseph "Dewayne" Cornelison officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Leachville.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Stan Hannah, Charles Ray, Joseph Kemp, Jimmy Hall, Wayne Morris and Michael Roberts.

The family will receive visitors Thursday afternoon from 4-6 at the funeral home in Leachville. In compliance with the state's directive regarding COVID-19, attendance will be limited and face masks and social distancing required inside the funeral home at all times.
