Jessie James McDuffey

Jessie James McDuffey of Blytheville was born March 4, 1942, in Armorel to the late Richard McDuffey and the late Eddie Mae Cartwright McDowell. He retired from Eaker Air Force Base and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. McDuffey passed away Jan. 8, 2021, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 78. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard McDuffey; his mother, Eddie Mae Cartwright McDowell; and his wife, Mary L. Wilson McDuffey.

He is survived by his son, Jessie James McDuffey Jr., of Blytheville; three daughters, Denese “Ernest” Bogard, Sandra McDuffey and Latasha McDuffey, all of Blytheville; six brothers, Charles Ewing and Sammy Ewing, both of Memphis, Tenn., Robert Ewing of Atlanta, Ga., Curtis McDuffey, Joe McDuffey, and Tony McDuffey, all of Toledo, Ohio; five sisters, Sarah Lawson and Gail McDuffey, both of Toledo, Ohio, Bobbie McKinney of Wichita, Kan., Mary Porter of East St. Louis, Mo., and Pat Ewing of Memphis, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. The funeral will be held the following day, Jan. 16, at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville at 10 a.m. with Pastor Burton Furlow officiating. The burial will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
