Carolyn Blankenship Yarbrough

Carolyn Blankenship Yarbrough was born April 1, 1962 to the late Rev. L.C. Blue and Elnora Blankenship in Philipp, Miss. Carolyn departed this life Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville at the age of 58. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She accepted Christ at the age of 11 and was baptized by the late Rev. O.W. Weaver at True Light M. B. Church. Carolyn graduated from Blytheville High School in 1980. She received her A.A. degree in Early Childhood from ANC.

Carolyn was a giving person, who cared for many. That was her ministry. She cooked and had Sunday dinners. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. She was a people person.

A heaven board train was dispatched with a summons for Carolyn to begin her transition from Earth to Eternity.

Carolyn leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Donnie Yarbrough Jr. of Blytheville; her daughter, Clenisha Yarbrough of Blytheville; her nephew, who she raised as her son, Steffond (Delicia) Blankenship of Jonesboro; her two stepdaughters, Torye (Adron) Bolden and Kelsey Yarbrough of Dallas, Texas; her sisters, Robin Willis of England, Ark., Vickie Blankenship of Jonesboro, Sandra ‘”Renee” Blankenship of Blytheville, her niece, who was raised as her sister, Latoshia Powell of Jonesboro, Elsie Taylor of Bono, Nora Taylor of Blytheville, Bobbie Ann Blue of Philipp, Miss., Johnnie Ruth Blue of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two brothers, Joe Blue of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Timmy Blue of Milwaukee, Wis.; her god-sister, Janet Williams of Country Club Hills, Ill.; a special grandson, Ayden Moore of Blytheville; five grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A walk-through viewing will be held Friday, Jan. 15, from 5-7 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home & Cremation, 634 W. Main Street, Blytheville. On Saturday, Jan. 16, a walk-through viewing will be held at New St. Paul M.B. Church from 12 (noon) until 12:55 p.m. Service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette. Pastor Clark Phillips will be officiating.
