Samuel “Sammy” Wade Chun, 63, of Luxora, passed from this life Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro. Born to Samuel Terry and Janie McGlaughlin Chun in Osceola, he was a retired farmer and real estate agent. Sammy was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Blytheville.

Sammy was an individual who loved the outdoors and working the farm. He was an avid hunter and fisherman with deer hunting being his passion. Sammy was a devoted son, father and grandfather whose grandchildren were his world. Sammy also loved to sing. At church, Sammy led the song services and on Sunday morning he would set up speakers outside the church and play music for the neighbors. Also, as the church had to progress to parking lot services, he was faithful to set up the system for all to be able to worship. Sammy was preceded in death by his father.

Sammy is survived by his son, Samuel Whitney Chun and his wife Guadalupe of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandchildren, Samuel Alexander Chun, Valerie Michelle Flores, Itzel Flores all of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; mother, Janie Ruth Chun of Blytheville; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Tracy D. and Vanessa Chun and Greg A. and Melissa Chun, all of Blytheville.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 10:30 a.m. in Memorial Park Cemetery with Mr. Billy Holifield officiating. There will be no visitation.
