Gary Lynn Wright

Gary Lynn Wright, 66, passed away Nov. 26, 2020. Gary was born Oct. 3, 1954 in Lepanto to Louis and Doris (Parnell) Wright. He attended Lepanto schools and was an avid football player. After school, Gary joined the Air Force and served 20 years mostly as a recruiter. He was named Rookie Recruiter of the Year and was stationed in Mississippi, Texas, Philippines, California, Ohio and Missouri, retiring in Carthage, Mo. After retirement, Gary went back to school, earning a Master’s Degree in Education. He became a teacher and football coach in Lamar, Mo. Later, he had an outboard motor repair shop in Grove, Okla.

He married Sari Stark and had one son, Jesse, who was devoted to his care in the last five years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving are two brothers, Ronnie and Randy Wright; one sister, Nancy; and one grandson, Gilliam L. Wright.

He was a good man and certainly had a zest for life. He was witty, smart and very friendly, making friends throughout the country. Gary will be duly missed.
