Nellie McLemore

Nellie McLemore, 83, of Blytheville, passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2020, at Gosnell Health and Rehab.

Born in Corinth, Miss., to Carroll and Lola Bagg Smith, Nellie was retired and a member of Gospel Lighthouse Church. She was the former nursery attendant for First United Methodist Church for 30 years and was a greeter at Wal-Mart for many years. Nellie was formerly employed at the Mississippi County Senior Citizens Center where she served meals for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.V. McLemore; her parents; three brothers, Monroe, Luke and Joe Smith; and three sisters, Bobby Sue Vernon, Irene Bass and Lucille Shields.

Nellie leaves three children, Sue King and her husband Jack of Blytheville, Faye Large and her husband Kenneth of Valdosta, Ga., and Mary Jean Herron and her husband Billy of Fargo, N.D.; one sister, Bernice Fricks of Springfield, Mo.; six grandchildren, Brandon Driskill, Megan Weather, Kristen Rushing, Kasey Large, Zach Herron and Patrick Herron; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 3, from 4-7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. Funeral services will be private. Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 50 people will be allowed to gather inside of Cobb Funeral Home and practice social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another. Face masks are required to enter the building and to be worn at all times.
