Dortha Louise “Dot” Stone

On Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, Dortha Louise “Dot” Stone passed away in Jonesboro from complications due to Covid-19. She was 93. Dot was born April 1, 1927, in St. Louis, Mo., to Harry and Ruby (Etherton) Bogan. Dot was married to Elmer Stone on Aug. 28, 1950, in Lansing, Mich. Dot served as bookkeeper for the family businesses, Alignment Service and Barfield Harbor Service, of Blytheville, until her retirement. She was an avid Red Cross volunteer. Dot loved animals and always had a pet to care for. Time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild was cherished. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Dana Stone and David Stone, sister, Nancy (Bogan) O’Tinger, and her brother, Charles Bogan. 

Dot leaves behind one daughter, Susan (Stone) Westbrook, and husband Steve of Jonesboro; grandsons, George Hubbard IV of Folly Beach, S.C., Austin Stone of Charleston of S.C., Jacob Stone of LaJolla, Calif.; Beau Stone of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., Matthew Whistle of Columbus, Ohio, Blake Westbrook of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; granddaughters, Abigail (Hubbard) Ishihara of Sacramento, Calif., and Brooke (Gibson) Booker of Jonesboro. She also leaves 14 great-grandchildren.

No service or visitation will be held at this time due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Blytheville, American Red Cross and Blytheville Humane Society.
