Matilde L. Garcia

Matilde L. Garcia, 80, passed away Nov. 3, 2020, in Trumann. She was a homemaker, a farmer and of the Apostolic Pentecostal faith. Ms. Garcia was born March 27, 1940, in Los Iadio, Texas, to Manuel and Matilda Alegria Leija. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Juan Garcia; one son, Esequiel Cavazos Leija; five brothers, Rafael Leija, Manuel Leija, Margon Leija, Abel Leija and Pedro Leija; two sisters, Angela Guzman and Rosa Conde.

She is survived by one son, Pablo Valle of Etowah; three daughters, Magdalene Prieto of Keiser, Juanita Leija Garcia-Vasquez of Trumann and Esmeralda Davis of Etowah; one sister, Aminadad Leija-Conde of Laferia, Texas; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be Saturday, Nov. 7, from 9-10 a.m. with the funeral at 10 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will be at Garden Point Cemetery in Etowah with Pastor Chad Batson officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge.
