Jeanette Suzanne Bouchillon

Jeanette Suzanne Bouchillon of Walnut Ridge died unexpectedly on Oct. 20, 2020, at University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock.

Our hearts are breaking today as we realize the depth of our loss. Suzanne lived, loved, laughed, and in spite of adversity left a legacy of kindness, generosity and goodness to her family and those around her.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., she grew up and attended school in Marked Tree. Suzanne loved music and played the piano and organ at the First Baptist Church. She was passionate about reading and instilled in her daughter what an awesome place the library is. Suzanne looked forward to summer camping trips with family. Through the years Suzanne made sure to stay connected with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins as she cherished and understood the importance of family. One of her favorite early family times was watching King Kong in black and white and making homemade divinity candy.

Neil Diamond was Suzanne's favorite artist, and she went to see him every chance she could. Shannon had attended five of his concerts before completing elementary school. Suzanne wanted her daughter to experience life to the fullest and different cultures. Every weekend getaway or vacation they visited art galleries and museums along the way. When Shannon was in junior high, Suzanne surprised her with tickets to see Jane Goodall.

Suzanne was very fond of her sister's dog Susu and looked forward to babysitting her whenever she could. She had a special love for animals and we are confident her and all of her pets that have gone before her (guinea pig, dogs, cats and birds) have been reunited at the Rainbow Bridge.

Suzanne was the happiest when she was near the beach. Her favorite place is the Scenic 17-Mile drive in Pebble Beach. If she were not driving that Volkswagen Beetle along the shoreline, she would be walking barefoot in the sand flying a mylar dragon kite.

She was preceded in death by her parents, HB and Juanita (Yance) Bouchillon, and her best friend, Linda Berr.

Suzanne leaves behind her daughter, Shannon McDonald of Sacramento, Calif.; her sister, Virginia Bouchillon-Ingle of Walnut Ridge. She was loved and cherished by her cousins, nephews, nieces and long-time friends.

In honoring her wishes, at a later date there will be a private celebration of Suzanne's life at which time her ashes will be released into the ocean. Expressions of sympathy should be sent directly to the family.
