Billy Wayne McIntare, 75, of Mountain View, gained his angel wings on Oct. 11, 2020, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home. Billy was born April 13, 1945, in New Hope, Ala., to the late John Alvin McIntare and Virginia O’Neal Ayres. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his family and friends. Billy was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country in the 101st Airborne Division (Screaming Eagles).

Billy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann McIntare of the home; one daughter, Kimberly Hicks (Eddie) of Mountain View; five grandkids, Dewayne Wilbanks (Katie) of Mountain View, Kayla Platt (Mike) of Tyronza, Hunter Criswell (Gabby) of Marked Tree, Faith Criswell of Tyronza and Tiffany Criswell (Eric) of Mississippi; six great-grandchildren, Emily Wilbanks, Kathryn Wilbanks, John David Wilbanks, Parker Fountain, Michael R. Platt, and Caylee Jarrett; three brothers, James McIntare, Robert McIntare (Gail) and Tommy McIntare (Nancy); two sisters, Peggy Herreth (Aaron) and Dorothy Jones; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, John Alvin McIntare and Virginia O’Neal Ayres; seven brothers, Carlos McIntare, Alvin McIntare, Cecil McIntare, Philip McIntare, John Ed McIntare, Donald McIntare and William David McIntare; and one sister, Effie Banks.

Graveside services for Billy will take place on Thursday, Oct. 15, 2 p.m. at Kuykendall Cemetery in Leslie with Brother Rick Kimery officiating.

Pallbearers are Ronnie Willis, Alan Willis, Joey Willis, Robbie McIntare, John Alvin McIntare, and Neal McIntare. Honorary pallbearers are John David Wilbanks, Michael R. Platt, Parker Fountain, Hunter Criswell, Gunner Everson and Mike Platt.

Military honors will be rendered by the Stone County Honor Guard and the United States Army Funeral Honors Team.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View is in charge of the arrangements.
