Chili Cook-off, Trunk or Treat cancelled

Two October staples in downtown Blytheville have been cancelled because of COVID-19.

On Wednesday, Main Street Blytheville announced on its Facebook page that the annal Chili Cook-off and Trunk or Treat have been cancelled.

Both events draw large crowds to Main Street each year.

"It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of this year’s 'Chili Cook-off' and 'Truck or Treat on Main," the Facebook post reads. "Due to growing concerns with COVID-19 we must look out for our community. This was a tough call but our health and safety is most important. Thank you all for your patience and understanding."
