Jimmy L Rogers, Sr. of Blytheville was born Feb. 28, 1947 in Blytheville to the late Ezell Rogers and the late Willie Mae Peterson. He was an Army veteran, a farmer and a member of Prince of Peace Church in Blytheville. Mr. Rogers passed away Sept. 13, 2020, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville at the age of 72. He was preceded in death by his father Ezell Rogers; his mother Willie Mae Peterson; his fiancé Beverly Boatman; one daughter Pamela Rogers; and three sisters, Idea McKinney, Willie B. Lane and Ollie Mae Wallace.

He is survived by 11 sons, Jimmy L. Rogers (Selina) of Paragould, Ezell Durell Rogers of Pocahontas, Gregory Lamont Rogers, Anthony Deone Rogers (Natalie), and Timothy Woods (Teresa), all of Blytheville, Daniel Boatman, and Chris Rodgers, both of Kennett, Mo., Jerry Boatman of Blytheville, DeWayne Boatman of Kennett, Mo., Adrian Boatman of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Zackary Boatman of Blytheville; five daughters, Tammy Rogers (James Cowley) of Blytheville, Valerie Callaway of Hot Springs, Angie Fowler (Marcus) of Jonesboro, Stephanie Woods (Demetrius Woods) of Memphis, Tenn., and Martessa Boatman of Blytheville; two brothers, L.B. Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz., and Clarence Fulton of Clint City, Fla.; one sister, Ollie B. Jones of Conyers, Ga.; a host of grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and a host of great-great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at St. James Word of Faith in Blytheville, with the funeral immediately following at 2 p.m., Pastor Theodis Rucker officiating. The burial will be held at Memory Gardens in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
