Charles Eldon Oakes

Charles Eldon Oakes, 64, of Lepanto died Sept. 20, 2020 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a farm worker and of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. Oakes was born June 29, 1956, in Wilson to Norman Presley and Etheline Mofield Oakes. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Floyd Oakes, two sisters Diane Alexander and Ann Smith.

He is survived three sons, Shawn Oakes of Michigan, Charles L. Quinn of Trumann and Charles W. Quinn of Lepanto; five daughters, Christinia Marie Oakes and Pearl Lynn Oakes of Michigan, Jennie Marie Oakes of Tennessee and Sherry Kirk and Karen Griffin of Etowah; two brothers, William Edward Oakes of Texas and Ronnie Lee Oakes of Indiana; four sisters, Lottie Gail Beal of Jonesboro and Christine Armstrong, Mary Amick and Charlene Morelock of Trumann; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, with the funeral following visitation at Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza. Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza is in charge of arrangements.
