Donna Sue Russell Southern, 58, of Manila, passed from this life on Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice Center in Jonesboro.

Born to Howard “Buddy” and Evelyn Lambert Russell in Blytheville, she was a past employee of Jordan’s convenience store in Manila and a member of the Yarbro Baptist Church. Donna was an individual who loved her family with all she had and was very devoted to taking care of her mother as long as she was able. She enjoyed watching TV and found it wonderfully comfortable to sit and crochet, do needlepoint and sewing. Moreover, Donna loved spending time with her granddaughter Evelyn who was named after her mother. Donna was preceded in death by her father.

Donna Sue is survived by her husband, Danny Southern of the home; mother, Evelyn Thompson of Bakers, Ore.; children, Cory Hudson of Monette, Luke and Martha Hudson of Monette, Rebecca and Samuel Moss of Gosnell; granddaughter, Evelyn Alice Hudson of Caraway; father of her children, Thomas E. Hudson Jr.; grandfather of her children, Thomas E. Hudson, both of Gatesville, Texas; brother, James Babb of Piggott; sisters, Wilma and “Red” Hamilton of Bakers, Ore., Lola Bennett of Haynes, Ore., Ann and Jim Watkins of Memphis, Tenn., and Edith Davis and Jamie Mohr of Gosnell.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Manila Cemetery and the family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 p.m. until service time, also at Cobb Funeral Home.

Following the State of Arkansas COVID-19 guidelines, no more than 100 people will be allowed to gather inside of Cobb Funeral Home at one time and practice social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance between one another. Face masks are required to enter the building.
