Matthew James “Matt Matt” Howard

Matthew James “Matt Matt” Howard of Trumann departed this life on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, at the family residence at the age of 19 years, 4 months and 12 days. He was born Friday, April 20, 2001, in Jonesboro and lived his lifetime in Trumann. Matthew was a 2019 graduate of Trumann High School and a freshman at ASU in Marked Tree. Matthew loved to play video games and take pictures. He had a heart of gold and loved to help anyone in need and attended Calvary Pentecostal Church.

He is survived by his parents, Jim and Tammy Howard of the home; his grandpa, John Howard; one sister, Natasha (Casey) Owens of Trumann; two brothers, Jerry (Kim) Hedge of Trumann and Dakota (Hailey) Howard of Bono; and six nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 5, at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann followed by A Celebration of Life in the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home with Rose Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Bolivar Cemetery in Harrisburg. Pallbearers are Jerry Hedge, Dakota Howard, Casey Owens, Caleb Speaks, Nathanial Sawyer, Michael Smith, Cody Jones and Austin Compton. In compliance with COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing will be followed along with face masks and the signing of a COVID-19 form.
