Helen J. Cothran (Miss Peaches)

Helen J. Cothran (Lendies) was born Aug. 6, 1935, in Luxora. She departed this life Monday, July 27, 2020, at Great River Hospital in Blytheville at the age of 84. Helen was preceded in death by her mother Lilly Lyons, her stepfather Aaron Stephens, and her youngest daughter Mary Elizabeth Cothran.

Helen leaves to cherish her memories her son Alvin Stephens of Memphis, Tenn., and her daughter Sandra Cothran of Blytheville; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Graham of Warner Robins, Ga., Leslie Newmy and Tamara Cothran, both of Prosper/Dallas, Texas, Terrance Cothran of Jonesboro, Nakishia Knatt, Steven Cothran and Deitrick Knatt, all of Hampton Roads, Vir.; 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and a host of church family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-10:55 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, at New Immanuel M.B. Church. Service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Gethsemane Cemetery on Elm Street in Blytheville.

In compliance with the CDC, the Governor and Arkansas Funeral Directors Associations, due to COVID-19, face masks are REQUIRED to be worn and the practice of social distancing must be adhered to.
