John Franz Kaulfurst

John Franz Kaulfurst, 83, of Blytheville, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020, surrounded by love ones at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.

John was born in Manistique, Mich., to Joseph and Eliza Dorin Kaulfuerst. He served his country with honor for 23 years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married the love of his life, Judith Hall, on Feb. 28, 1964. John was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He loved to read his Bible and read his devotional every morning. He enjoyed woodworking and shopping at Lowe’s and Wal-Mart. Everyone he met remembers him for his sense of humor and the smile on his face.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Patrick John “P.J.” Kaulfurst; brothers, Leonard Marotz and Joey Oelrich; and sisters, Leila Marotz and Bernice Kaulfuerst.

John leaves his wife, Judith “Judy” Hall Kaulfurst of the home; children, Theresa Houston of Boise, Idaho, Aubrey Harris and his wife Connie of Nashville, Tenn., Jan Gothard and her husband Scott of Armorel, Karen Thompson and her husband Darryl of Madison, Ala., and Lisa Edwards and her husband Matt of Camden; brother, Julius Kaulfuerst and his wife Geri of Colgate, Wis.; sisters, Agnes Thurner of Mequon, Wis., and Frieda Oelrich of Spencer, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 22, at Trinity Baptist Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Mike Welch officiating and burial following at Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.
