Chief: 'No valid threats;' no curfew

Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson said the Blytheville Police Department has received "no valid threats" and no curfew is in place.

"As a result of recent events across the country, citizens have contacted our department asking if the 'rumors' they’ve (heard) about upcoming threats, riots, lootings, and curfews are true," Thompson said Tuesday afternoon. "The answer is no. As of the date of this (press release), the Blytheville Police Department has received no valid threats to any individual citizen, business, or the community at large and there is no curfew in place. We always anticipate peaceful demonstrations in the city for various causes, and we always expect them to remain peaceful.
