John Watkins, Jr.

John Watkins, Jr. was born April 24, 1955, to the late John Watkins, Sr. and Clydie White in Luxora. He departed this life Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro at the age of 65. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Stephanie Watkins; a son, Johnathan Watkins; three brothers, Calvin Watkins, Alvin Watkins and Eddied Charles Watkins.

John was a member of New Mt. Pleasant Church in Osceola. He enjoyed listening to music, sports and detailing cars. He owed his own detailing business for many years.

John leaves to cherish his memories, his caregiver, Margaret Watkins of Turrell; five daughters, Lashon (James) Anderson of St. Petersburg, Fla., Crystal (James) King of Jonesboro, Znetta Askew of Rancho Cordova, Calif., Joia Watkins and Regina Watkins both of Blytheville; four sons, Gary Watkins of Biloxi, Miss., Gerard Watkins of Blytheville, Jaquaze Sorrells of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Rod (Tanya) Moore of Forrest City; three brothers, Robert Watkins and Authour Watkins, both of Luxora, and Terry Watkins of Osceola; fifteen grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 23, from 10:00-11:55 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest Church in Osceola. Graveside service will follow at noon at Whiteside Cemetery.
