Dennis Smith

Dennis Smith, 67, of Leachville, passed from this life Sunday, May 10, 2020, at his home after a two year battle with two different types of cancer. Born and raised in Senath, Mo., he was the son of the late Chester Lee and Athena "Inez" Smith and had been a longtime Missouri resident before making his home in Northeast Arkansas. He was a 1970 graduate of Senath High School and retired from Viskase Casing Company of Osceola in 2017. Dennis enjoyed hunting arrowhead and Indian artifacts, fishing and John Wayne movies. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church in Kennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Marrlin Wayne Smith and Terry Gene Smith; and one sister, Brenda Sue Austin.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary A. Smith of the home; his son, Jason D. Smith of the home; two daughters, Amanda Parsley and husband John, Jr. of Manila and Jamilee Cato of Senath; one sister, Debra Joann Williams and husband Ricky L. of Kennett. He also leaves six grandchildren, John Parsley, III, Dalton Parsley, Shelby RC Parsley, Kenneth Parsley, Ethan Roberts and Landon Adams; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and other family members and friends.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Eastside Baptist Church 2103 U.S. 61 Hwy., Osceola. 

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jason D. Smith, Amanda Parsley, Jami Cato, John Parsley, III, Dalton Parsley, Shelby Parsley and Kenneth Parsley.
