Elvie Vernon "E.V.-Bug" McDonald

Elvie Vernon "E.V.-Bug" McDonald, 92, of West Monroe, La., formerly of Marked Tree, died May 3, 2020, at Willow Ridge Nursing Center in Arcadia, La. He was a retired welder and of the Pentecostal faith. Mr. McDonald was born July 26, 1927, in Oil Trough, to Walter Vernon and Elvie Thompson McDonald. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter McDonald and Elvie Warbritton; his first wife and mother of his children, Johnnie Ruth McDonald; his second wife, Lynn McDonald; one son, Kevin Leroy McDonald; five brothers, Clyde, Jack, Gene, Ed and Buddy; and one sister, Beatrice.

He is survived by two sons, Larry McDonald of Blytheville and Richard Steven McDonald of St. Louis, Mo.; two daughters, Barbara McDonald of Lepanto and Brenda Waits of Northport, Fla.; two sisters, Florence Burchfield and Ruby Jean Clark of West Monroe, La.; nine grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held May 6 at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza, with Brother Billy Brown officiating.

Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola was in charge of arrangements.
