Number of COVID-19 cases rises in county

There have been 18 new reported cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi County.

Tuesday afternoon, the number of positive cases was 23, while the number of negatives was 232. By Wednesday morning, the Arkansas Department of Health reported there are 41 positive cases and 272 negatives.

There have been nine recoveries.

According to the Osceola Times, the Arkansas Department of Health has confirmed that a total of 18 residents and three staff members at Harris Healthcare in Osceola have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.

A total of 16 residents were added to the list yesterday, however the ADH ordered those residents be retested, the newspaper reported. Thus far six of those tests had come back negative. A Harris Healthcare official told the Osceola Times that he hoped the other 10 test results would be released today (Wednesday).
