NYS donates 10,000 masks

Nucor-Yamato Steel donated N95 masks to the Blytheville Police Department on Monday. The Blytheville Police Department was one of the recipients of N95 masks donated by Nucor-Yamato Steel.

Blytheville Mayor James Sanders and Blytheville Police Chief Ross Thompson welcomed the gift expressing their appreciation.

Delivering the masks from Nucor-Yamato to the BPD Monday morning were Thad Solomon, NYS general manager and vice president; Judy Haynes, NYS HR supervisor, and Gina Taylor, NYS occupational health nurse.

Approximately 10,000 masks were distributed to the hospital, nursing homes, Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department, county courthouse, and the Blytheville Police Department.

Chief Thompson said he had checked their supply of masks and they were getting low. “We appreciate this very much,” he said.

“You take care of us and we want to take care of you,” Solomon said.
