Leroy Gifford

Leroy Gifford of Blytheville was born Sept. 17, 1937, in Tomato to the late Luther Gifford and the late Bessie Altom Gifford. He was the owner of Gifford Moving Service, had retired from Bush Canning Company after 44 years as the maintenance supervisor, was a lifetime resident of Mississippi County and was a member of Ruddle Road Church of God in Blytheville. Mr. Gifford passed away on March 16, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Roberts Gifford; his father, Luther Gifford; his mother, Bessie Altom Gifford; one son, Tommy Gifford; and two sisters, Dorthy Dingler and Hazel Cooley.

He is survived by his son, Chris Gifford of Jonesboro; three daughters, Creseana Gist of Gosnell, Amber Counce of Jonesboro and Sondra Luszcak of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Bobby Gifford of Osceola and Jimmy Gifford of Blytheville; five sisters, Beatrice McElroy of New Orleans, La., Patsy Moody of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Beattie Normand and Patricia Harris, both of Blytheville, and Connie Mitchusson of Luxora; and five grandchildren, Justin Decesaro, Billy Ray Gist III, Whitney Moore, Savana Gist and Cooper Gifford.

The visitation will be Friday, March 20, 1-3 p.m. at Ruddle Road Church of God in Blytheville with the funeral immediately following at 3 p.m. with Bro. Jeff Watson officiating. The burial will be held at Dogwood Cemetery, Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
