Myrtle Louise Maynard

Myrtle Louise Maynard, 85, of Jonesboro, formerly of Monette, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020. She was born April 2, 1934, in Monette to the late L.D. and Bessie Thurman Gleghorn. Myrtle loved being a wife, mother and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and sewing and making cheerleading uniforms, maid of honor outfits, bridesmaid’s dresses. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.    

She is survived by her children, Tony Maynard (Carolyn) of Osceola, Angela Gatewood and Tina Nuckles (Greg), all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Morris (Steve) of Bentonville, Kelsey Maynard (Blair) and Stephanie Jacobsen (Donald), all of Memphis, Russell Ford (Betty) of Osceola, Rhonda New (Jason) of Caraway, Dr. Connor Gatewood (Whitney) of Memphis and Brendan Gatewood of Jonesboro.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sig Maynard; a grandson, Randy Ford, and two sisters, Alma Pyland and Faye Smith.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday at Gregg Funeral Home in Monette.

A celebration of her life will be 12:00 noon Saturday, Feb. 29, at Gregg Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Monette Memorial Cemetery.
