Hugh Wayne Walpole

Hugh Wayne Walpole, 80, of Arbyrd, Mo., passed from this life Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020, at the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. Born in Kennett, Mo., he was the son of the late Clyde and Jewel Sutton Walpole and was a 1957 graduate of Kennett High School. He had lived much of his life in Defiance, Ohio, where he worked many years as a line supervisor for the General Motors Foundry and later worked as a salesman for Stykemain GMC/Buick/Chevy Dealers of Defiance. An Arbyrd, Mo., resident since 2002, he had been a member of the former Arbyrd Baptist Church and more recently had attended Trinity Community Church in Cardwell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald Walpole.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Pat Selby Walpole of Arbyrd; two daughters, Elizabeth B. Walpole and Jeanette M. Walpole both of Little Rock; one daughter of the heart, April Schultz and her husband Tracy; one brother, James Walpole of Defiance, Ohio; one sister, Donna K. Redd of Gulfport, Miss. He also leaves six grandchildren, Karl E. Kissner, II, Allison Wilke, Bruno J. Kissner, Jason Schultz, Jordan Schultz and Jacob Schultz, and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville with Rev. Ron Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunklin County Memorial Gardens in Kennett.

Pallbearers include Fred Krapf, Eric Krapf, Truman Krapf, Blythe Selby, Terry Selby, Dr. Mike Selby and Trey Selby.
