Barney Sanders

Barney Sanders, 79, of Osceola died Jan. 16, 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. After 33 years he was a retired inspector for Ford Motor Company in Chicago, Ill., and a member of Bethlehem Temple Church in Harvey, Ill. Mr. Sanders was born March 19, 1940, in Chicago to Harvey and Dorothy Flenoy Sanders, Sr. He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Yolanda Wright; two brothers, Harvey Sanders, Jr. and Delbert Sanders; and one grandchild Stephanie Wright.

He is survived by his wife, Lavelle Wells Sanders of Osceola; three daughters, Yvette (Michael) Guyton of Boling Brook, Ill., Glenda K. Sanders of Chicago, Ill., and Kimberly Wells of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Edward Sanders of Lake Geneva, Wis., and Bennie (Sharon) Sanders of Chicago, Ill.; one sister, Delores Sanders of Chicago, Ill.; one grandchild, Amanda Mills (Reggie) of Springfield, Maine.

Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, with the funeral at 10 a.m. at Promiseland C.O.G.I.C. in Osceola. Burial will be at Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola, with Pastor Bryant Whitted officiating. Wilson Funeral Home of Osceola is in charge.
