Irene Bass

Irene Bass, 92, of Blytheville passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 20, 2019 at her home.

Irene was born in 1927 in Lancaster, Ohio, to Joseph and Jeanette Feldman. She attended Ohio State University. Irene was a lifetime member of Temple Israel of Blytheville where she was a member of the Temple Sisterhood. Also, she was an honorary member of Beth Shalom Temple of Memphis, Tenn. Irene was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with family, reading, cooking, and watching Turner Classic movies. She loved listening to country music and her weakness was her love of chocolate. Later in life, Irene worked part time in the family businesses, Foster’s Liquor Store and Baskin Robbins, where she liked talking with customers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Bass, her parents, and son-in-law, Mark Sandler, husband of Laurie Bass.

Irene leaves her sons, Howard Bass of Blytheville and Richard Bass and his wife Laura of Frisco, Texas; daughters, Laurie Bass of Blytheville and Shelly Belz and her husband Gary of Encino, Calif.; and grandchildren, Brittany, Erik and Victory Belz and Samantha Bass.

Services were held Sunday, Dec. 22, 2019, for family members. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
