Roosevelt Thomas was born in Chatfield, May 8, 1948, to the late Charlie & Eula Mae Thomas. Roosevelt spent most of his toddler years at John Gaston hospital in Memphis, Tenn. He accepted Christ at an early age and he loved gospel music. He was in a gospel group in his younger years. Roosevelt excelled in academics and in sports, especially basketball, baseball and track and field. After high school he married the love of his life Queen Ester Anderson. He worked for Emerson Electric in Kennett, Mo., for years and later became a QTR truck driver for Jack Cooper Transport Co. until retirement after 28 years.

Roosevelt was preceeded in death by his parents, Charlie and Eula Mae Thomas; a son, Joseph Leonard Thomas; a sister, Lucy Woods; five brothers, Elder Jones, Elder Clayborn, William Wright, Roy Thomas and Earnest Wright Jr.

Roosevelt leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Queen Ester Thomas of Jonesboro; a son, Ralph (Angela) Covington of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Rozelle Renee Sneed(Derek) Lett of Euclid, Ohio, Brenda(James) White of Jonesboro, Felicia Covington of Kansas City, Mo.; and a stepdaughter, Alisha Thomas of Jonesboro. Roosevelt also leaves behind two brothers, Marvin Wright and Gene Thomas of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Ruthie Mae Bulluck of Rochester , N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Jadarius, Ralph II, Anthony, Noriya, Daniel, Elijah and Josiah; three great-grandchildren Jayden, Braydn and Ki’Rian; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was at 12 noon Saturday with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. at Wolfe Brothers Funeral Home, 530 Lumerate, Blytheville.
