James Ward, 81, of Osceola died Nov. 23, 2019 at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was a City of Osceola employee with the Sanitation Department for over 30 years and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Ward was born Nov. 10, 1938 in Hughes, to George and Aggie Mae Morgan Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Emma Ward of Osceola; five sons, James Ward of Blytheville, Randall Ward of Osceola, Elliott (Shelly) Ward and Travis (Kenyatta) Ward of Jonesboro, and Quincy Ward of Gosnell; four daughters, Stephanie Richmond and Rita Ward of Osceola, Betty Ward of Memphis, Tenn., and Latasha Ward of South Bend, Ind.; one sister, Georgia Tiggs of Jonesboro; 34 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at Bethlehem MB Church in Osceola, with Rev. Robert Ousley officiating. Burial will be in Whiteside Cemetery in Osceola. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge.
