Lila Vera Carpenter

Lila Vera Carpenter, 83, of Manila, passed from this life Friday Nov. 29, 2019, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in Hattieville, she was the daughter of the late William Lee and Lillian Haynes Russell and had been a Manila resident for most of her life. She was a homemaker, accomplished seamstress, and enjoyed working in her flower garden.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.

Survivors include a son, Billy Carpenter (Patricia) of Leachville; a daughter, Sheila Hawkins (Tony) of Manila. She also leaves three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial service was held at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, in the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. The family received visitors from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
