Ada Louise Buchanan

Ada Louise Buchanan, 86, of Blytheville, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Ada was born in Keiser to Solomon “Kay” and Maude Wofford Bradford. She was the office manager for the Mississippi County Drainage District #17 for 36 years before retiring and a member of First Baptist Church. She was affectionately known by her husband and close friends as “Buttercup”. Ada enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader of various subjects and genres.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kay Bradford, Jr., Carl Bradford and Johnny Bradford; and two sisters, Eileen Martin and Janet Bradford.

Ada leaves her husband, Johnny Buchanan of the home; two children, Beverly Smith and her husband James of Farmington, and Mark Buchanan of Ridgely, Tennessee; three brothers, Raymond Bradford of Cave City, Kenneth Bradford of West Memphis and Ricky Bradford of Pocahontas; three sisters, Betty Peters of Bartlett, Tenn., Linda Hodges of Memphis, Tenn., and Sandra Guthrie of Pocahontas; and one grandson, Aaron James “AJ” Smith of Farmington.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 1, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at First Baptist Church. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
