Cleaner Safer Blytheville will have its fall cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 26. Volunteers are asked to meet at 2101 West Rose at 7:30 a.m. that day and they will be given safety equipment and instructions. “This is a community event,” Blytheville City Councilman John Musgraves said. “Also, volunteer hours can be received. Please bring rakes, weed eaters, etc. Please label all your equipment that you bring. Once again, this will be another challenging task. We appreciate your help and donations.” Lunch will be served at noon. Councilman R.L. Jones said , “We want people to feel safe, and we hope that everyone will take pride in their neighborhood once we get all of the blight out.” Pictured at one of the sites to be cleaned up, Charlene Street, are (from left) Blytheville assistant police chief Ricky Jefferson, Benny Northern, Councilman Jones, Gerald Evans, Pastor Curtis Smith, Pastor Willie B.
