James Johnson, Jr. of Gosnell was born Dec. 23, 1952 in Steele, Mo., to the late June Jackson and the late Samuel Butler. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War, a factory worker and a member of the North Side Church of Christ in Blytheville. Mr. Johnson passed away on Oct. 11, 2019, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro at the age of 66. He was preceded in death by his mother, June Johnson, and his father, Samuel Butler.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Johnson of Gosnell; one son, Cedric James Johnson of Jonesboro; one daughter, Lacreatca Deann Johnson of Gosnell; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The visitation will be held from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, at North Side Church of Christ in Blytheville with the funeral immediately following at 10 a.m. Bro. Bill Drake will be officiating. The burial will be held at Memory Gardens in Blytheville. Services are provided by Wilson Funeral Home Blytheville.
