David Leon Brothers, 77, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away Sept. 11, 2019 at Christus Health Center in San Antonio. He joined the Army Sept. 21, 1967 until Sept. 18, 1970. After three years in the reserves he went back into the Army May 23, 1975 until June 1, 1992. He made Warrant Officer in 1982. He had 20 plus years active duty: Vietnam War, Cold War, Gulf War, years of service travels took him from North America to Southeast Asia, Korea, Europe, Great Britian, Germany, France, Austria Italy, Poland, Netherlands, Switzerland, Egypt, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Kuwait and the United Arabian Emerates. He was a specialist 5th class in Korea DMZ 1967-1968, 2nd Infantry Division (Indian Head). He retired as Chief Warrant Officer and was a member of the VFW. Mr. Brothers was born April 10, 1941, in Dell, to Artie Cecil and Tressie Mae Byrnes Brothers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Jessie Brothers, Herbert Brothers, Charles Brothers, C.T. Brothers and Thomas Brothers; four sisters, Jewel Brothers, Lucille Brothers Boozer, Louise Brothers and Veldia Brothers Hicks.

He is survived by his companion/friend, Tiffany Gerrero of San Antonio, Texas; one brother, Floyd Brothers of Little Rock; four sisters, Oreen Brothers Woods of Michigan, Iva Mae Brothers Sipes of Pensacola, Fla., Dorothy Butterworth of Osceola and Shirley Brothers Belt of St. Francis.

Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, with the funeral at 11 a.m. at Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial will be at Lloyd Cemetery in Holcomb, Mo., with Bro. Gary Andrews officiating. Wilson Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge.
