Floyd Matheny

Floyd Matheny, 79, of Caruthersville, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2019, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Floyd was born in Huffman to Fred and Martha Singleton Matheny. He loved working and was a farm hand for Billy Poole and was an avid squirrel hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Myrtle May Matheny, Linda Huggins and Louise Colburn.

Floyd leaves two stepdaughters whom he raised, Linda and Rosemary, both of Kentucky; and four brothers, Buddy Matheny of Dowagiac, Mich., Jackie Matheny of Squaw Creek, Mich., Leroy Matheny of Muskegon, Mich., and Charles Matheny of Caruthersville, Mo.

The family encourages all of Floyd’s friends to come and pay their final respects.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.cobbfuneralhome.com.
