Dorothy Mae Scroggins

Dorothy Mae Scroggins, 92, of Blytheville, passed away Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, at her residence.

Dorothy was born in Carson Lake to Fred and Edith Adams Chamberlain. She was a homemaker and member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Dorothy enjoyed tending to her flower garden, sewing, decorating cakes and was a former member of the Mississippi County Extension Club. Dorothy loved her dogs, Dusty and Skipper, and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Scroggins; her parents; son, David Scroggins; twin sister, Betty Thomas, and sister, Hazel Peterson; and brother, Floyd Parker.

Dorothy is survived by five children, Jerry Scroggins of Gosnell, Steven Scroggins of Blytheville, Richard Scroggins of Blytheville, Patty Dillon and her husband Michael of Longview, Texas, and Nancy Henson and husband Guy of Blytheville; two sisters Sarah Reeds of Rockford, Ill., and Evelyn Hastings of Wilson; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Hurley and Rev. Gary Hyde officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at Cobb Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Bethany Baptist Parking Lot Fund.
