Charles Henry Dunn, 85, of Manila, died Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, at his home. Born in Black Oak, he was the son of the late John and Cora England Dunn and had lived most of his life in Manila. Charles was retired from the former Brown Shoe Company in Leachville and later worked as a bus driver for Manila Public Schools. He had attended the Church of God of Prophecy and in recent years the Westside Baptist Church in Manila. Charles enjoyed going to area flea markets and singing karaoke. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Dunn.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ida Mae Swafford Dunn of the home; two sons, Barry Dunn (Darlene) of Manila and Paul Alvin Routon (Candace) of Manila. He also leaves his grandchildren, Terry Routon and Amy Cook, and his great-granddaughters, Alyson Routon and Brittney Jennings.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 19, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Eddie Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Manila Cemetery.

Pallbearers include James “Pee Wee” Thomas, Kevin Lewis, Bobby Nettles, Marvin Helton, Kent Moore, and Jacky Eddings.

The family received visitors Sunday from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
